Underwater World

Prepare all the materials as shown in the picture: a shoebox, white cardboard, blank or recycled paper, some crayons or oil pastels, a paintbrush, a water container, colour pencils, a palette, poster paints, masking tape, double-sided tape, scissors, a blade, a pencil, Blu-Tack (putty adhesive) and a ruler.

Draw some long, thin rectangles on the box lid with the pencil. They can be straight or wavy.

Using poster paints, paint the box lid blue with some white stripes for water and waves.

Stick the lid upright on top of the box with glue or double-sided tape.

Cut the animals out carefully.

Fold one of the strip's ends down and attach one to each creature with glue or Blu-Tack, like in the picture.

Slide the cardboard strips through the slots in the shoebox, and your underwater world is ready to go.

Tape strips of masking tape all over the bottom and sides of the shoebox and its lid. This will give you a good surface to paint on.

Cut the shapes out with a blade.

Repeat steps 3 to 5 on the shoebox, and add some sand and seaweed to the bottom of the scene.

Draw some sea creatures for your underwater world and colour them in.

Cut out some long, straight strips of cardboard.

Stick small sea creatures straight onto the shoebox with glue or Blu-Tack.

You can even put on little performances by moving the creatures along the slots.
